The ArtMusic Coffeehouse in East Stroudsburg, PA presented Classical Guitarist Craig Carroll on Saturday August 14th. The Concert took place at the home of Don Slepian and his wife Jan Julia whose coupled charm immediately greets those who enters their welcoming dwelling. Their home is truly a faithful reflection of their generosity and warmth which is evident in those the concerts attracts. This is enhanced by the conversation and the wonderful foods that are consumed before and after the musical treats of the evening are partook of.
This evening proved no exception to the delightful presentation of meaningful music The ArtMusic Coffeehouse has gained a well deserved reputation of having. After the customary musical introduction by host Don Slepian, Classical Guitarist Craig Carroll presented pieces by well know Classical Composers but focused on works not commonly known. In fact, many of these pieces aren’t known by music teachers as it is often assumed the work most associated with the composer is his only composition. It was a delight to listen to the lesser know works as it gave a new insight to the composer’s creative process and makes listening to the more known work even more enjoyable.
