The Starbucks Coffeehouse in Stroudsburg, PA held an Artist’s Reception featuring the work of Shane Izykowski, John Kolbek, and Mike Parsons on Saturday October 9th. A sizable crowd gathered in the hallway in which the pieces were hung as they created a sense of frightening fascination in the deeper recesses of the souls who dared to gaze upon them. For those who could not withstand the dare, there were chocolate treats awaiting them at one end of the hall while the rest rooms awaited those who had the tricks scared out of them.
The images presented proved to be compelling drawing the viewer into each scene depicted. Although each artists had a distinctive style which still could be seen in the collaborative work of John Kobek and Michael parsons, the beautifully macabre visions inspired an eerie feeling which was an enjoyable experience for all who love the Halloween season. Music for the evening was provided by Liz Moon whose haunting voice enhanced the exhibition which continues until October 31st.
