The Blending of Art and Garlic

The aromatic texture of garlic and the excitement of discovering the creative contents of a new gallery filled the air of The Garlic Restaurant and Bar in Stroudsburg PA as it held an Artists' Reception for its first Exhibition featuring Local Artists on Sunday February 7th. The welcoming interiors of the restaurant with its architectural curves proved to be very conducive to exploring the enormity of the art that was hung upon its walls. The variety of the images depicted along with the diversity found in the aesthetic approach of each artist was astounding as reflected by the inspired expressions found within the eyes and faces of the many who attended the event.

Christine Unger, Melissa McGlynn, Alison Gray, Grace Spezzano, Marty Carr, Jairo Diaz, Albert Shivers, Ashley Fontones, Nicole Smedley, Robert Sawada, Vanessa Kresge, Rocio Valera, Nicholas Bello, Kyra Hodson, and many other were among the numerous artists who shared their talents. To those who have been to a large number of exhibitions throughout the area, a significantly high number of artists presented at The Garlic Restaurant and Bar were unknown. Yet, it soon became a joy to be acquainted with their work and to have the opportunity to engage in conversation with them as their words enhanced one's perspective and appreciation of the arts.

The exhibits at The Garlic Restaurant and Bar are perpetual ones which means the individual works remains upon their wall until it is sold or the artist either choses to take it down or replace it with another piece. However, the restaurant plans to hold an Opening Reception every month and welcomes artists to offer their work for consideration to be included in their future shows. In the meantime, the variety found in the current exhibition and it's expansive nature intrigues the mind and is certain to heighten the enjoyment of a meal eaten at the establishment.
