Shawnee Pays Tribute to Sinatra

The Shawnee Playhouse* in Shawnee on the Delaware, PA presented their revue entitled, “My Way: A tribute to Frank Sinatra.” This entertaining presentation was fill with numerous favorites along with (as noted by one of the performers) unfamiliar tunes whose powers of enchantment weren’t diminished by their lack of notoriety. While Sinatra often stated the key to his success was to “Sing Good Songs,” he also had a certain way of styling the songs he performed. Instead of mimicking Sinatra’s style and thereby cheapening the presentation, each performer discovered a delicate balance in which they paid tribute to the legendary singer as they made the songs their own. This demonstrates great talent along with a high degree of artistic integrity which was well appreciated by those who attended the show.

These performers were Mallorie Fletcher, Katie Rochon, David B. Johnson, and Patrick McLaughlin*. Their interpretations of the songs they delivered met the skills of Sinatra to the point of occasionally surpassing them. It’s been said a good musical accompaniment enhances a singer’s work. This was very evident in this presentation as the musicians were of a very high caliber. They were Beth Faulstick* on percussions and Ronan Mariano* on piano who also served as the presentation’s Musical Director.

Corin Hollifield Directed and Choreographed the show the Stage Manager was Rob DelColle. Jenavene Hester was the Assistant Stage Manager and Props Mistress while Anthony Calderone was the Technical Director with Tucker Haworth serving as the Assistant Technical Director. The Set/Lighting Designer and Master Carpenter was Sean Warner while the Costumer was Katy Joyce with Ashley Nieves as the Assistant Costumer. The Shawnee Playhouse staff consists of Producers Ginny and Charlie Kirkwood, Executive Director, Midge McClosky*, Group Sales Manager Mary Horn, Box Office Staffers Kasey Meski, Lillian Gonzales, and Barbara Toss, Sound designer Bill Ulichney, Assistant Carpenter Joe Warner, Publicist Amy Cramer*, and Webmaster David Schrage.
