The Sherman Theatre* in Stroudsburg, PA presented The New Riders of The Purple Sage (NRPS) on Friday June 6th featuring original members David Nelson on guitar and vocals and Buddy Cage on pedal Steel along with Michael Falzarano of Hot Tuna on guitar, mandolin and vocals, Johnny Markowski of Stir Fried and The JGB on drums and vocals, and Ronnie Penque of Ripple and The JGB on bass and vocals. The evening began with the music of Boris Garcia and his band which enhanced the mood of the audience for the entrance of NRPS. The arrival of NRPS brought forth the sensations the cosmic, psychedelic-country folk rock and roll stylings they are best known for. Numerous people were swaying and dancing to the experiences they encountered around and within them as the music entreated their souls toward enchantments. Richard Berkowitz*, Bill Kelly*, Cheryl Yost*, and Theresa Woehrel* (all of the Sherman) were among the many as was Gary Lambert* and Arline M. Smeltz*. The next events at The Sherman Theatre* will be The Masquerade Tour at 6pm featuring The Recovering, Pull the Pin, Motionless in White, Alamance, Kelsey and The Chaos, Double XL, and Heart Set Self Destruct as part of their Independent Rock Series on Friday June 13th, The USAF Heritage Aire Celtic Ensemble at 7pm under the direction of TSgt Sherry Burt featuring a traditional music of Ireland, Scotland, and England with a contemporary musical style to create a stunning musical tapestry on Saturday June 14th, and The Artbeat Dance Show as an annual fundraiser for The Fine Arts Discover Series* and PA Dance Vision (PADV)* at 2pm on Sunday June 15th.
