Across
the backdrop of a picture perfect day, the
PoconoArts Community Cultural Center in Stroudsburg, PA held an
Artists' Reception for their their 2nd
Annual Photography Exhibition on Saturday
August 6th.
A sizable gathering of art lovers congregated within the center's
Artspace gallery to view and oogle the images that graced its walls.
The range of styles and approaches ranged from the traditional
picturesque renderings of ordinary subjects that became extraordinary
through the photographer's skill to the abstract depictions recreated
by the imagination of the image capturer.
The
show was a juried one and the daunting task of selecting those
befitting an award went to Anne K. Sikorski-Schneider who is from
Coopersburg, PA and has taught art for over 35 years. She has
received several awards for her work which has been shown in several
exhibition throughout the Lehigh Valley, PA Area. You'll be able to

The
awards ceremony began as member of the Pocono Arts Council Board of
Directors, Jack Swersie, shared his appreciative welcoming sentiments
with the gathering before revealing the winning photographers. The
photographer who received the Third
Place Award was Andrea Robbins-Rimberg for the work titled, “Iguana,”
the Second Place Award went to Cortney Torres for the work titled,
“At The Station,” and the First
Place Award was given to Gabrielle Felix for the work titled, “Car
Wash.” Ms. Felix furthered distinguished herself by being the first
foremost award recipient to also gain an Honorable
Mention for her work titled, “Space Divide.”
Other Honorable
Mentions included Laurinda Faye Rubin for the work titled, “Enchanted
Bridge,” Terry Kloiber for the work titled, “William Penn Fire
Tower,” and Maddie Kash for the work titled, “Landour Bakery.”
A hearty round of appreciative applause was sounded in order to
congratulate the recipients.
The
artists' Reception for The 2nd
Annual Photography Exhibition proved to be a wonderful late afternoon
occasion to experience some incredible images, good conversation, and
the thrill of witnessing a photographer receiving their much coveted
award. It is well worth a visit while the exhibit remains open. The
2nd
Annual Photography Exhibition housed within
The
Pocono Arts Cultural and Community Center's ArtSpace Gallery in
Stroudsburg, PA will
be
on display until August
27th.
The
next exhibit at the center will be their Local
Landmarks Exhibition
with the Artists' Reception scheduled for Saturday
September 3rd.
The
exhibit will be on display until September 24th.
The exhibition is open to all artists and the drop
off date is August
29th.

The
PoconoArts Community Cultural Center in Stroudsburg, PA is part of
The PoconoArts Council which is an organization designed to build the
communities in which it serves artistically and culturally by
