Organist Past and Present

The St. John's United Church of Christ in Fredericksburg, PA presented “St. John's UCC Organists (Past and Present) in Concert” as part of their 270th Anniversary Celebrations on Sunday March 15th featuring performances by previous organists of the church who included Louise Walmer, Nick Basehore, and Nancy Moyer as well as by their current organist Thomas D. Busteed*.

After a brief interlude performed by Thomas D. Busteed* and some opening remarks which included a liturgical responsive reading led by the Reverend Christopher Rankin, the music performed consisted of classical and spiritual pieces. Each work filled the room and the souls of each attendee. This was especially true of the original composition created by Thomas D. Busteed entitled, “Requiem for Organ III: Everything Fades.”

Among those who enjoyed the program were Arline M. Smeltz* along with Donald, Anna, Rose, and Loren Busteed*.
